Lan Lan has been invited to many prestigious poetry events, like the Paris International Poetry Festival, the Biennale Internationale des Poètes en Val-de-Marne in 2003, the Venezuela International Poetry Festival in 2006, and to Dialogues between Chinese and Portuguese Poets in Macao, 2006.

She was awarded the LIU Li’an Poetry Prize in 1996. In 2005, more than 70 poets and critics chose her as the first among the “top ten” Chinese new century young women poets. She was awarded the Yu-Long Poetry Prize in 2009, and the Poetry and People Poetry Prize in 2009.
