YAN Jun

Born in Lanzhou in 1973, YAN Jun has graduated in Chinese literature and now lives in Beijing. Working under the Sub Jam label since 1998, the performer creates hypnotic sound in live performances. In 2004, he co-founded KwanYin, an experimental music and sound exploration label. Since 2005, he has organised Waterland Kwanyin, a weekly music and experimental sound event, and the annual Mini Midi festival. In addition, YAN Jun has published five essays on contemporary Chinese music and three poetry collections.
